Understanding the skills youth need for a digital world has become a topic of growing importance among decision-makers around the globe, with different stakeholders and communities rethinking what meaningful learning environments, modes of engagement, and educational content should entail. 

Youth and Digital Citizenship+ (Plus): Understanding Skills for a Digital World — by Sandra Cortesi, Alexa Hasse, Andres Lombana-Bermudez, Sonia Kim, and Urs Gasser — maps the current discourse around youth (ages 12-18) and digital citizenship. The report focuses on several key questions: 

• Why has the concept of digital citizenship become central in discussions about youth, education, and learning in the 21st century? 
• How is the concept of digital citizenship similar to or different from other concepts, such as digital literacy, media literacy, new media literacies, 21st century skills, or digital competence? 
• Based on a mapping of 35 frameworks, what does the current digital citizenship landscape address, and to what extent are youth’s voices included in the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital citizenship initiatives? 
• What are key considerations for learning spaces and meaningful youth engagement?
• How can we address underexplored areas, such as artificial intelligence and data?

Inplantalariak: El Gobierno Vasco pone en marcha un servicio de asesoramiento e implantación inmediata de teletrabajo en autónomos y pymes

Ante la situación que está generando el COVID-19 y las medidas adoptadas por las autoridades competentes, el Departamento de Desarrollo Económico e Infraestructuras del Gobierno Vasco, a través de la SPRI, ha puesto en marcha el servicio INPLANTALARIAK de Asesoramiento e Implantación de Teletrabajo a disposición de autónomos y pymes, para apoyarles en el uso de la tecnología que les permita continuar con su actividad o parte de la misma desde su domicilio.

Este servicio, que será gratuito, se prestará de forma telemática por un equipo de asesores tecnológicos con amplia experiencia en asesoramiento a autónomos y empresas, lo cual le confiere un conocimiento de valor sobre cómo implantar y utilizar eficientemente las herramientas tecnológicas en la pequeña empresa para lograr implantar el teletrabajo con garantías y seguridad.

El servicio se ha diseñado para ofrecer y lograr:

• Una implantación inmediata, en modo telemático, en el colectivo de autónomos y pymes de Euskadi que lo soliciten.
• Una identificación de las áreas de la empresa que pueden ser realizadas a distancia, a través de teletrabajo.
• Un apoyo continuado que permita la implantación real en las empresas solicitantes, en ámbitos cómo:
• Comunicarse y compartir información con clientes, empleados, proveedores, socios, etc.
• Realizar trabajo colaborativo para la generación de documentación empresarial como pedidos, trabajos, etc.
• Acceder, consultar, registrar y almacenar a distancia información clave para la empresa, como contactos con clientes, fichas de pedidos, facturas, etc.
• Gestionar de modo remoto del reparto el trabajo o el estado de proyectos/pedidos.
• Analizar información y tomar decisiones que permitan la gestión eficiente de la empresa en función del estado, comportamiento y tendencias con gestores de notas/avisos.
• Gestionar agendas/citas/entregas de modo sincronizado con los empleados, clientes o socios.
• Acceder a los equipos de la oficina de modo remoto.
• Agilizar y geolocalizar actividades en ejecución que hagan más rápida la actividad de la empresa.
• Securizar los trabajos a distancia para evitar grandes impactos de potenciales ciberataques que reciba la empresa.

El equipo de asesores tecnológicos del servicio INPLANTALARIAK dispone de un catálogo de herramientas que son:

• Fáciles de usar.
• De implantación y uso inmediato.
• De aplicabilidad en autónomos y pymes, ya que permiten realizar a distancia las tareas empresariales más comunes entre autónomos y pymes.
• De una alta viabilidad en términos de capacitación tecnológica, lo que hace que incluso empresas sin formación puedan utilizarlas con el asesoramiento que se presta por parte de los asesores tecnológicos.
• De un coste asequible e incluso gratuito en muchos casos.
• Probadas ya en otras pymes vascas y por lo tanto ya dispone de casos de uso de referencia que permiten a la empresa, que requiere de Teletrabajo, verse reflejada.

Solicitud de asesoramiento

Para solicitar el servicio INPLANTALARIAK el autónomo o la pyme debe dirigirse al servicio de Atención al Cliente de SPRI el cual le pondrá en contacto con el servicio INPLANTALARIAK, que le asesorará sobre las áreas de su empresa en el que el servicio puede actuar, para llevarlas a cabo a través de teletrabajo.

Until recently we all thought that teleworking is the best thing that can happen especially for the working mother. Given the present circumstances where home working has almost been forced on us, we may not be totally convinced that it is. As we miss the social interactions, we try to find a new meaning to our present way of life. So how do we cope?

European Commission launches new digital competence guidelines

Today, the Commission launches new guidelines to help educators, employers and recruiters ensure Europeans are equipped with the digital skills to thrive in the post-coronavirus world of work. The DigComp at Work report and its Implementation Guidelines include practical steps, key actions, tips and online resources to make best use of the EU’s digital competence framework (DigComp) along the ‘employability path’ – from education to sustainable employment and entrepreneurship.

Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, added: “These past months, social distancing has transformed the way we connect, research and innovate at work – and we need to equip people with the right digital skills to continue working like this.” Support for managing the digital transition are at the heart of the European Skills Agenda.

The Commission will take this work forward in the autumn when it presents an updated Digital Education Action Plan alongside a communication on building the European Education Area. DigComp will play a role in supporting the work of countries, companies and social partners to support the development of digital competences. The case studies in the report showcase practical examples of the development of the digital competences, and the Implementation Guide offers specific guidelines, examples and useful resources for the use of DigComp.
